Starting from today we are now looking at all our work to see if it needs anything to be added to complete all the units to gain our award at the end of the year.
We are updating our blogs and seeing if have missed anything that is important to be added or updated.
I am going to through each unit one by one and look over all my blogs over the year and see if I can get some more info and details and see if I can make my wording look more better and interesting.
We currently have 2 weeks until we break for the summer so this gives me about 6 days to look over al the work.

Monday 7th June 2010 post 2
I have now finished my website!
Everything is now ready for the show on Thursday evening.
I did this mostly on my own with only a little bit of help and work needed to be handed back to me.
I have found that creating a website this time around is so much easier than before when I had no clue what to do.
I now feel very confident creating a website using Dreamweaver.
I really hope people enjoy seeing my work on Wednesday and that I will get good feedback after this unit.
I have the website saved and linked and ready, all I have to do now is wait till Thursday for it to viewed.

Thursday 27th May 2010
Today we are designing and creating our websites, I have decided to create mine using dreamweaver, I used this before in a previous unit being Unit 4: Web authoring.
I have decided to do this website without any support or help as I feel confident to do this all on my own, One day in my life I am going to have work on things that are hard in life and I am not going to have help when I want it.
I enjoyed the web authoring unit and as I had such a keen interest in it then I will work well into it and be very careful of how I design it.

Monday 24th May 2010
Today we presented our presentation in front of the class, I felt confident today and was ready to present, it was very good when it came to presenting our video as it gave our group to show what our work was all about and give everyone a chance to see what it's about and what information it gives to them.
I found it a little hectic to have to read off Rob's laptop, it was especially hard when it came to reading small text which was underneath the note section.
I felt as though our group did well and presented our video and evaluation clearly and understandable.
We have been listening to the other group presentations today aswell, they're videos are very good and the way they have presented their evaluations was very well presented.
We've now finished this unit and are awating to see what our next unit is on.

Thursday 20th May 2010
Today we have been working on our powerpoint presentation, it has been difficult to word out my wording and language throughout my work as I am feeling quite ill today and am trying to get all the work done by today to present it for Monday.
On Monday when it comes to presenting our presentation, I will ready and confident.
I am looking foward to presenting our work and seeing what everyone thinks of our work.
It has been good working with Rob, Liam and Paul, it has been a pleasure and great working with these three friends.

Wednesday 19th May 2010
Today we carried on editing and collecting more work together.
Rob has started working on the subtitles for one of our interviews due to sound problems.
Rob is struggling to deal with this as it is very hard to hear what Ryan is saying as it is very loud.
However Liam was not in today unfortunatley but we are hoping he will be in tommorow for the presentation.
Paul is away at the Doctors since break time, so Rob and myself have been working on our presentation and editing on soundbooth.
I have taken some screenshots to show what programmes we have used through out this project.
Also there has been a problem with the G drive but it seems to be fine now, Due to this problem I could not insert the animatic into our presentation.
I shall insert it tommorow morning.
Tommorow I will carry on with the Presentation with my group and then present it and have it ready for the afternoon.

Thursday May 13th 2010 blog 2 update
As of today there have been many issues with trying to get our work off tape 2 using Adobe Premiere, it has been a total nightmare!
Luckily throughout this afternoon and help from John we have managed to get the audio sounding off the interview with Ryan with one of the squatters who we interviewed, I then recorded this and sent it over to Rob to analize.
It has been difficult trying to get this audio off the camera but we have managed well and have done quite a lot of editing, the next time we carry on will be on Wednesday the 19th May as we have paintballing to attend to on Monday.
I will see what else needs editing and make a planner over the weekend so then we get everything finished before our deadline and evaulation write up.
This unit has been very good and it has taught me a good experience about squating, It can be very depressing and I myself wouldn't want to end up in a homeless condition.
I shall attend the weekend by and updating the Forum posts and may make a small start on my evaluation.

Thursday 13th May 2010
Today we are planning to get our editing in place.
I have filled out a student load form to borrow another video camera so then we can download our work off the camera tapes quicker than we would with one video camera.
I am now financially responsible for the camera, but we will only be using the camera to copy our work over to the computer to edit in Adobe Premier.
As it is going to be a long day we should hopefully get a lot of editing and finalizing done.
Whilst we are waiting for the second camera there is not a lot to do at this moment in time.
We have also downloaded our soundbooth recordings for when we were interviewing, we need to add this into our video documentary.
We may need to add subtitles for one of our interviews as their was poor sound quality.
I shall write another blog to update what we have done later today.

Wednesday 12th May 2010
Today I am going to write a blog on our filming sessions:
Whilst filming out in Brighton we interviewed some sqauts/homeless people.
We took it in turns to use the camera and the other equipment we had.
We kept a logsheet and noted down our recordings and kept a track of timing and camera angles.
We changed the location by bumping into our interviewie when looking around at the Crowley club.
Liam interviewed the squater and asked some of the questions that Paul printed out.
We did this yesterday even though it was a day off college, we are trying very hard to get all our recording and shooting out of the way and can then move onto editing for which we are now starting.
I've also learnt about permission and consent for watching someones work, I was a little uncomfortable on the idea of how someone might play your video if we didnt give permission to show our video, as this is a group project I am happy and confindent for it to be played to everyone.

Monday 10th May 2010
Today we have been introduced to Adobe Premier, it is quite good to use and am just starting to get the hang of it, We worked on one of Take-That's songs and had ago at editing it, we followed ways of editing from John whilst watching how to edit from taking notes.
Later this afternoon we have carried on working with Premier, I have found this a little tricky but as always will grow used to it and remember how to use it very well, I have had a go at editing a video off of YouTube of a Mass Effect 2 Video which is a game, I find that it is easy to edit something I like and how I can create my ideas to my own advantage.
I am hoping to get another try at editing before we start editing our work, it is very difficult to understand how everything works at the moment.
When it comes to editing our documentary then I shall hopefully know some of the tools of editing.
I shall also start writting down the name of the tools so then I can note it all down for my Evaulation.

Thursday 6th May 2010
Today our group went out recording and spent most of the day doing this, we recorded Rob's friend Sid today and interviewed him and asked him a few questions listed from our script.
Before we interviewed Sid, we went to some empty buildings and recorded them from different camera angels and from heights.
We next went around Brighton and recorded the outside of the police station, after we moved on and were about to write up our video logs, we were then stopped by two police officers and were asked to show our college I'd, we then told them the reason for recording the police station as it was for our college work on a documentary on homeless people and squating, they then understood this and let us carry on with what we are doing.
We then moved on to find that someone who looked as though they were homeless were selling the big issues magazines, we asked them whether we can record them, they got a little angry and said they didn't want to particapate, we then offered to buy a big issue of them and to see whether we could record that at least, the woman went to us saying "abosoutley not".
We then said thank you anyway even though she wouldn't particapate with our college work and moved on to a busco who was a minute a way down the road, we asked him whether it was alright to record him playing his gutiar and one of pass by giving him some money.
This worked out well and we were happy that we had captured this scene, we walked around some more to find either some more empty buildings or anyone on the streets who were either begging for money, playing music or just sitting down quietly.
Near the train station we found a homeless person sitting underneath the tunnel, we asked them whether it would be alright to record them sitting there and pretending to be cold as Liam passed by and gave him some money.
Afterwards we headed back to college and started uploading and viewing our recordings and watched over it a few times.
It has been a good day, and it has been nice to get out of the college and do an active task in the streets of Brighton and knowing new areas.
Tomorrow we are coming into college to collect the camera and any equipment we need for more recording.

Wednesday 5th of May 2010- BLOG UPDATE!
Over the last 2 weeks we have been working very hard on the production work for assignment 1.
I have done my tasks and completed them, today I have uploaded them and have sent them for marking.
Our group came into college yesterday to carry on with work that was needed to be completed. Paul has been working very hard on the the Story board and also the Animatic.
We scanned some information from some books in the Libary yesterday, this helped us understand a little bit more about squating/homeless and gave some new information to us.
Rob has been busy planning out and scheduling the time planner for our Production work which is coming up very soon.
I have been working on the script, it still needs a little bit of editing but as we have Liam who has returned to join our group we should be able to get our work and producion (filming) done quite quickly and handed in on time, editing will be required for the production as we have a time limit of 4 minutes.
We have permission from both sets of squatters, the first group we went to we asked face to face as Paul knew one of them as a friend.
The second squat is one of Rob's friends who is more than happy for us to film and ask questions towards him.
Tomorow we will be introduced to the Adobe Premier for which we will be using for our producion editing.
I want our audience to know what it is truly like living in a poor condition, the condition of their home and how they feel, how they survive, what caused to be in a homeless state and lastly how people show them respect.
Our plans for filming will be set out for Thursday and Friday.
We will be interviewing the people for both of these days, one group will be filmed in their location where they live, and the other person will be filmed down either in a park or an empty squat.
The mood of this video would most likely show emotions and personal thoughts and a story of how there life might have turned upside down (bad fortune).
When we enter the squat and interview Rob's friend, we will show respect towards them and appreciate any questions they may not want to answer.
We don't want them to feel like it is an interorgation or the fact that we could disrespect them, this is how I feel and should show respect as I am a crew member of my team.

Thursday 29th April 2010
Today we have been carrying on with our unit 3: Video Production work.
Rob, Paul and myself went out to take some pictures and went past 2-3 squats, we visited a squat and asked for permisson to se if we can interview some of the people there in about a week or two time.
It took us about 35 mintues to walk up there, the area it self looks very old and the stairs leading up to the entrance is starting to rust a little.
I have also finished writting up the treatment this afternoon.
Most of our group work is now finished, we are planning to record this time next week and will look into what we have filmed and see what needs editing.
I am enjoying this unit at the moment, the only part about it which I am struggling with is some of the research, I have had 3 mayjor jobs on the research and have done well into writting them up.
Over the weekend I shall see If I am free to meet up with Rob and Paul and see if we can get some more photos and see if we can look at some other squats.

Return from easter- Monday 19th April 2010
Today we have come back after a two week break which was our Easter holiday.
We have returned and have carried on with the unit 6 on Animation.
I have carried on with my Flash work but I came back to find that my Flash work has been found all jumbled up and out of place.
As soon as I have finished the Flash work I shall then get some screenshots.
I have found it a little difficult to get back into the routine of using Flash but I shall soon agjust again.
I didn't attend key skills today as I had finished the key skills work two weeks before easter holidays.
It is good to have returned and concentrate on my work.
Lastly it is good to hear I had some results back on my grades for Unit 5 Photography, but I was disapointed with my grade, although it is a very good pass mark.

Monday 15th March 2010
In Key skills today I have now finished all my portfolio work, everything is now correct and completed.
Unfortunatly I do not need to attend the lessons anymore as I have finished everything.
Today we have been working our current new unit 6 which is on Animation.
We looked at lots of different clips of examples to do with animation.
Jason and the Argounauts
Fantasia
Steamboat Wilie
And more.
I have enjoyed learning about the different ways of animation.
We have been researching on different aspects such as Zoetrope, Cel Animation, Stopframe and 3D animation.
I am still in the process on researching 3-D animation and then must choose of one the above to work on 6 pages of.
This unit should be exciting and I am looking foward to seeing what we do after the research.

Wednesday 10th March 2010
So today we I have been working hard to get more of my research done, it has been a little stressful but I have managed and kept myself on task.
I am now getting somewhere and starting to understand better, sometimes it seems a little complicating for me, but recently I have been getting a better understanding for what I am instructed and prompted to do.
I am feeling more confident now and I know that tommorow is going to be a busy day of research and evaulation. Then in the afternoon we are going to listen to our podcasts in the class.
I am really hoping I can get all the work done by tommorow lunch time.

Monday 8th March 2010
Today I have been VERY busy with podcasting, researching, printscreening and planning.
It has been a long and difficult day but I have managed to keep up with everything and keep on track.
The most hardest thing today was the research, unfortunatly I have only done nearly 2pages, I am really hoping I can get it done by wednesday or maybe thursday morning as a little more help is required as I don't quite understand some of the information on my sheets.
The podcasting has been fun and I am hoping that it all works out well.
It will be presented on thursday morning/afternoon.
I shall see what I can do over tuesday and have a look into my work and be ready for wednesday.

Today we have been working more on Podcasts, we finished writting out the script and rehearsed in the afternoon.
The podcast we are working on is on Modern Warfare 2 (Call of Duty 6)
I am working with Jason Buss, Jason Cheeseman and Sean.
Our ideas are working well and so far everything is okay.
Afterwards we searched for a jingle and found one on Requiem for a Dream which Jason Buss came up for the idea of, it sounded great and works out well.
We will do more Podcasting on Monday and hopefully have it all finished by then. We are hoping so anyways.
Also this Unit has been quite exciting so far and I am enjoying it.
Have a nice weekend all!

Today I have had some issues with my stupid password :(
I need to change it, it is very annoying that the college changes your password every half term and that my blogger password is the same as my old current password due to me forgetting :(
Anyway, today we dissucssed in group about our podcasts and stuff, and then we scrateched down ideas and are going to start scripting it.
Before that though we were mixed in groups about the homework we had.
I cannot think of much more to say as my mind has gone blank as I have been attempting to log in!!! :(

Today we started off with an extra 10-20 minute catch up on our mind maps, I was able to finish mine off this morning.
Afterwards we were split into groups of three to write down notes on our research.
I was with Adam and Jamie, we took it in turns to talk about our research and write down notes on the PC.
Later this afternoon we researched into Podcasting and then again were split into groups, my group at the moment is Jason Buss, Sean Ryan and Jason Cheeseman.
We are going to research and work on "Modern Warfare 2" (Call of Duty 6)
We are going to make a Podcast about it, but before we do that we are going to plan everything out and make sure it all sounds good and well presented with a practice run.
It has been a good and easy day, and I have enjoyed it (As well as it is also my Birthday today) :)
I shall check with myself to promt myself to do the work on Monday morning.
Have a nice weekend all! :)

Monday 22nd Feb 2010
Today in Key Skills we went through our portfolios.
We had to make sure we have everything up to date and completed.
I sent two peices of my work to Andrea by e-mail as the printer was unable to work this morning.
Later after break we went through Assignment Brief 1.
We then reviewed Powerpoint on the topic of Broadcasting/Non-Broadcasting with a discussion group activity.
I was placed in group 2 and we had to think of ways of how you broadcast an advert, or certain things that are non-broadcasting.
Later on we started with the Research and we had default mind-maps.
We could choose from either A,B,C
They contained either CD usage and various other things we have to research.
(I shall update this soon)

Thursday 11th Feb 2010 chosen song review work
My chosen song is: 21 Guns by Green Day
Green Day is a rock band, they have been playing since 1987 till now.
Their recently new album is 21st Century Breakdown.
They have done loads of gigs and perform at lots of festivals and tours.
The Band members are Billie Joe Armstrong (Main Singer and Guitar) Mike Dirnt (Back Singer and Guitar) and lastly Tre Cool (Drummer)
They have also won 4 grammy awards for albums and songs.
The song 21 guns is about a man and a woman in a room with both at opposite ends of the wall, all of a sudden gun shots come blazing through the walls and both the man and woman are scared and in cover at first, the second time round they don't seem to care that it happens, and the third time they get up and move to each other and then start kissing, lastly they are in the middle of the room holding each other while bullets are flying from one end of the room to the other.
It fits into an action scene and also love, you would think someone would get shot because you don't know where the bullets are going to hit.
I like the song because the lyrics are good and the video is fantastic.
I like the way they have worked on it, it must of taken a long time to get everything right and then get every detail in. (The fish tank shot and having to maybe clean all of that up)
Also the music is powerful and excellent, the loud noise of guitars and drums show a powerful rock effect.
The only thing I don’t like about the song is that it goes pitch black when the couple start kissing, it doesn't seem to make any sense at all.
My overall opinion is that it is a good video and has great music to it, but I think a little explaining about the video would of been good and also it could show some detail, the fact the song is named 21 guns is kind off odd because you don’t know how many guns are firing through the walls.
I found afterwards that the reason the song is named 21 guns is because it is an anti war song refering to a salute for when a soldier dies.
My rating of this song would have to be 8/10 because I don’t like this song as much as I liked the American Idiot Album.

Thursday 11th Feb 2010 Game review
Game Review on Fallout 3
The games developer is Todd Howard, he is the video game producer and designer and also an executive game director for Bethesda Softworks.
He also produced and directed the game The Elder scrolls series.
Information about the game:
The game is set in the future of the year 2277. It is the sequel of Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 which were available on PC.
The game starts you off as a baby and allows you to edit your sex (Gender) Name, Face, Hair and also any other features.
Once you have finished editing you character, your mother unfortunately goes into cardiac arrest and you are rushed out of the room by a doctor.

Later when you 19 your father tells you that your mother would be proud of the you.
You then go a year forward and you are 1 years old, your father asks you to walk to him and then leaves the room.
You then jump out of the play pen area and read a book to edit your learning skills.
Once done you age more and more, the next time you see yourself as a 10 year old boy, you then get handed the Pip-boy 3000. (Shown to the side)
Later at the age of 19 your father leaves the vault and you must go and find him to find out why he left the vault.
Once you have the left vault the choice is yours to do what you like.
You could go to towns and buy new clothing and armour.
You could even kill all civilians in a town or city and start a war.
Or you could even hire a companion and find a lost dog and pled your way across the wasteland with some company and protection.
The image on the right hand corner shows how you can use VATS (Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System)
this helps you to aim and shoot enemies, this freezes time allows you to shoot an enemy wherever you like.
My thoughts and what I like
You can roam around the wasteland for however long you like, due to short daytime the dark can be dangerous, most creatures and patrols of enemies come out mostly at night time.
A few weapons to keep handy are listed below.
Melee weapons:
Jingwei’s Shocksword (Available after the Downloadable content “Operation Anchorage”)
Energy Weapons:
Laser rifle/Wazer rifle
(Wazer Rifle given to you by a young boy who cannot say any words pronouncing the letter L) Example Here is my Wazer Rifle.
Destablizer (Alien Rifle, you can obtain this weapon on the Downloadable content “Mothership Zeta”)
Big guns
Gatling Laser
Missile Launcher
Mini Gun
Grenades
Frag Grenades
These weapons are most handy and easy to use and my favourite to use.
Armour and Clothing
Armoured Vault 101 suit
Power Armour
Outcast Power Armour
T-51b Power Armour
Winterized T-51b Power Armour
Sunglasses
Also I do however enjoy wearing the armour without headwear as I don’t then get confused of who I am following and who is behind me.
Locations (Most scariest)
12- Deathclaw Sanctuary- Filled with hundreds of deathclaws in dungeons.
Mainly a lot of numbers- Metro stations, filled with either Ghouls or Raiders and sometimes Supermutants.
8C- Dunwich Building- Filled with a lot of Ghouls.
46- Yaoi Guai Tunnels- Filled with Yaio Guai hostiles.
3B- Vault 108- Filled with Gary clones, they jump out on you in certain places and whisper “Gary” to freak you out.
If you could avoid these places then you should be fine!
What I like about the game:
I like the fact how it’s your own story, you can do whatever you want when you want.
You could play as a character that has evil karma and could go around killing civilians and destroying towns, or you could be a neutral person who does some good and bad, or lastly you could be a good person and do tasks which earn you good karma and also a bonus of money.
If I could improve the game then I would add the fact off taking more than one companion with you.
Also some more locations could be added to the map, I know that extra places get added onto your world map when you get the DLC for the game, but for people who want to stay on the game and travel more then this would be a good thing to look at.
And lastly it could be a two player game, perhaps online and you could travel the wasteland with up to four people and have four dogs, and it would be good if you could have more weapons available.
The Control of the game is excellent, the way you can customise your character and move around easily is very good and simple to use, it allows you to open doors by pressing the A button on the Xbox-360 and the E on the keyboard for PC.
What I don’t like about the game:
The one thing I don’t like about the game is that you have to sometimes go underground and inside the metro tunnels to get to certain locations.
I think this is quite annoying and I think it would be better if you could drive a vehicle or maybe even fly a Vertibird that you could take from the Enclave.
My overall opinion of the game:
I think this game is great, I brought it a few days after Christmas in 2008 and badly wanted to play it as my friends said it was great and I had read reviews about it.
I had watched lots of YouTube videos to see what the game play and action is like.
My Rating:
I would rate this game 9 out 10, the reason I choose 9 is because of travelling around the map and also the limit of only hiring one companion and having a canine companion. Also with three add-ons that I have played so far I would recommend them if anyone has completed the game and want more action and quests and more storylines available.

Thursday 11th Feb 2010 pasted work (song)
Owl City is a solo artist, having only one member though he plays guitar and also sings. He has had eight albums out and is playing his next gig on 22nd Feb 2010.
I think Owl City are quite good, I only like one of their songs though which is Vanilla twilight.
They have been playing for over three years now and performed and made many albums.
About the song:
The song is about him not feeling alone when he thinks of someone.
I think the song is quite good and has a calm genre. I would class it as “easy listening”.
Towards the end of the song it gets a little louder and lets out a lot of emotion.
Lots of people seem to like this song as it is rated 5 stars on YouTube and has many comments.
What I like about the song:
It’s gentle, relaxing, and emotional and could be a nice song to share with a girlfriend/boyfriend.
What the song fits into:
I would say the song fits into something calm and easy to listen to, it has the kind of same similarity as James Blunt.
He tends to write emotional music and express it. Other people listen and sometimes feel the same and then feel better afterwards, and sometimes music such as this can make people cry.
About the Video:
The video isn’t very good because it just focus’s on one of the album pictures and you can just hear the song you have selected as though it was background music.
This is a disadvantage unfortunately because it would be good to see a video about the song.
What I don’t like about the song:
There is one I don’t like about the song, at the beginning of the song there is a loud tiny beep sound, it hurt my ears and I thought the file/video had been corrupted or something.
YouTube has hundreds of videos of one song as it narrows down the searches for a song you are looking for.
Images:

I found these images on Google images.
Overall opinion of the song:
My overall opinion is that I think the song is quite good.
At first I judged it when I saw other people listening to it, when I listened to it my judgement and criticism for the song changed.
Whilst listening to the song I realised it reminded me of my old memories.
It reminded me of fun times I used to have with friends and times where I am alone and upset.
This song really is emotional, I think the reason it was made is because a lot of people in the world are emotional and need songs like this to listen to through hard times.
I myself listen to a lot of songs like this, sometimes it makes me sad and other times remind me of good memories.
My opinion of the song is that it really relaxing to listen to and I like it.
My rating:
I would rate this song 9 out of 10 because there is one thing I don’t like about it, it’s a good song but it needs a video to show what kind of song it is, someone could easily understand this by the lyrics and the song itself but it would be so much better if the video was there.

Blog updating- Monday 8th Feb 2010
Today I am catching up on updating my Blog.
Recently we have finshed Unit 8- Recording, it was an easy Unit to carry out and get on with.
I didn't enjoy the Unit that much because I'm not into music and the elements of desigining it and editing it, however I do enjoy listening to it.
The track that I came up with was not very good, If I had more time available then I would of made it sound better and perhaps add more effects to make it sound better.
One of the problems in one of our tasks set was that when we were out recording sounds in the public in our groups was that not all of recording seemed to record and we couldn't use it in our tracks.
The research was sort of Easy and sort of Hard, because it was quite difficult to look up certain pricing and choose quantity over quality.
I have been doing well with the work so far and feel as though I am improving each week.
But however when I first started the course I felt as though I wouldn't be able to manage with the Research and tasks set out for me, but I am now doing alot of the research independently.
I am quite worried about my grading, I am worried because I am not sure whether I am going to get a Merit to pass to get onto the the next course which is Games Development.
Later during today I shall go back and edit some of my posts, I will look out for posts that would need examples or more detail and even add some pictures or evidence that I have worked on a certain task.
Also I must write one or two posts more about how I found Unit 8(Recording) and express what I found easy and what I found difficult and whether I would manage it better next time.
This morning we had a key skills session, after a weeks of preparation I was ready for the exam, I felt as though I did well and should hopefully get a good score.
Unfortunatley I cannot upload any print screen due to errors.

Monday 1/2/10
Today we did Key skills and Media:
In key skills we learn about apostrophes.
I found it a little hard to get the hang of it at first, I then got used to it when a sheet came to me. I only found two of the questions difficult because I wasn't sure where the apostrophe went.
Also I didn't do the other side of the sheet as it looked alot harder to work on.
I think I may need to improve my understanding of apostrophes.
Later today we handed in all our work for assignment 2.
We had to hand in the following below:
Research
Spreadsheet
Printscreens
Soundbooth audio
I handed in all my work and had everything completed.
It has been a nice easy day and was glad I had time to edit my mistakes on my word documents.
I know this a short blog but will be able to type more up on Wednesday when we start something new.
